As Spartan Stores’ executive vice president and chief financial officer, Dave Staples oversees information technology, real estate and finance.
Prior to joining Spartan, Dave spent four years at the Detroit, Mich.-based Kmart Corporation (NYSE:KM). While at Kmart, Dave worked on various special projects in such areas as systems implementation, process improvement and divestitures as well as oversaw all of the corporate accounting and reporting functions. His most recent responsibilities were as divisional vice president - strategic planning and reporting and included planning and analysis, budgeting, reporting and corporate accounting.
Before his tenure with Kmart, Dave served 11 years in the audit and business advisory practice of Arthur Andersen LLP’s Detroit office. During his time at Arthur Andersen, Dave functioned as a consultant as well as a business advisor to his clients.
